Year 1 & Year 2: Geography, Only Better

Some changes are in the air for the geography curriculum here at Let’s Go Geography! Both Year 1 and Year 2 are being updated and improved for you. Yep, the same Geography, Only Better. Read on…

YEAR 1 SUBSCRIBERS

Let's Go Geography Curriculum for K-5th grade

For the 1st time, I am using my own Curriculum for Year 1 instead of the handwritten notes from my overflowing Geography binders. It is so nice! Which means…of course I’m going to revise things!!

If you are using Year 1, you will notice gradual revisions, starting with the 1st Lesson and on. I want Year 1 to have all the new additions that are included in Year 2. So right now Hawaii is getting a facelift, with more to come. I’ll keep you posted!

YEAR 2 SUBSCRIBERS

Lets Go Geography Year 2

I am on track for completing all the Year 2 remaining lessons right on schedule! In the meantime, the feedback was that there was TOO MUCH content in the 1st (Intro) Lesson for one class period. Like way too much! And I would agree.

So I will be re-writing that lesson, splitting the content between 2 lessons. It will still introduce all continents the first week, but it will be revised to concentrate on NA, SA, & Europe. Then on week 19, a 2nd Lesson will review things, add things, and concentrate on Africa, Asia, & Australia.

Let's Go Geography Scope & Sequence

This 2nd Lesson will go just before the units on Africa, so it pushes everything forward a week (from Week 19 on). The new Week 19 lesson will replace the review lesson currently scheduled at Year’s End.

The 3-Year Schedule posted on the website shows these changes.
