Free Printable Christmas Thank You Cards
'Tis the Season, and these FREE printable Thank You cards will help make it special!
I'm sure you use the Christmas season to teach your kids generosity and the importance of giving over receiving.
But when they DO receive, teaching gratefulness and thankfulness becomes the next step.
And a simple way to do that is with a simple Thank You card!
Thank You Cards: Keep it Simple
But let's face it. Writing thank you cards can be intimidating.
So keep it simple! You don't want it to become a dreaded chore. For YOU or your kids.
Here's a few quick tips:
If your child struggles with handwriting, help him or her write the word "Thank you," and you write the rest as they dictate.
Or you write the rest really lightly in pencil, and they copy over your words.
If your child struggles with expressing themselves, just have them write "thank you for [the gift]" and sign their name.
Or coach them, giving lots of ideas for a few more descriptive words or another sentence. But if that is overwhelming, drop it. Sometimes a simple thank you is enough!
Remember, any new type of writing is a skill to be learned. So don't just drop blank paper on them. Or in this case, blank super-cute, fun, amazing printable thank you card on them.
Stick around! Be there to teach. Help. Coach.
Thank You Cards: The Purpose
The point is...don't let the PROCESS overshadow the PURPOSE.
The purpose is to express gratitude.
Anything else is fluff.
Good fluff, of course. But in the long run, you don't have to have pretty handwriting or a personalized poem to say thank you.
You just have to say "Thank You"!
Thank You Cards: The Big Picture
In a way, thank you cards are really more for you and your kids than the recipients of the cards.
As a parent, you will never regret instilling gratefulness in your children. The older they become, the more you realize how much that character trait makes a big difference in their lives.
As kids, thank you notes are just another way to turn the focus from Self to Others. With thank you cards, kids have to purposefully think about the Giver, rather than the Gift.
Not to mention that Grandma who lives 400 [or so] miles away will truly appreciate receiving these!
It's a Win-Win!
