Continent Map Workbooks are an optional companion for the Let’s Go Geography curriculum, Around the World. The workbooks are created for Grades 3-5.
They’re optional because the curriculum lessons do have map activities, but the workbooks give you more!
Continent Map Workbooks Take Things a Step Further!
Why are these books something you should include in your geography day? How do they compare to what’s already included in the lessons?
The lessons give you quick & low-key map discovery that is meant to be done audibly between teacher & student.
But the Map Workbooks take things just a little deeper. And the workbooks provide a place to write the answers down, freeing the teacher from asking questions out loud and waiting for replies.
And honestly, there is something special about writing things down.
Studies show that while reading and listening to information is beneficial, writing things down further cements things in your mind. This goes for adults as well as kids! There is just something almost magical about the writing process.
With the Continent Map Workbooks, you have the same shading on the map & basic questions that the lessons include. BUT you get additional shading & questions that are NOT in the lessons. PLUS a place to write down all answers.
